While one-on-one communication is the best, in a District as large as Northside ISD it is sometimes difficult. Because we want our parents to stay informed, NISD has several ways that parents and other interested citizens can stay informed about the successes and challenges of San Antonio’s premier school district, as well as news about their children’s schools.

More than 5,000 students still need updated immunizations before the start of the school year. Northside ISD is enforcing its “No Shots, No School” policy, which means students who are not up-to-date on immunizations will not be allowed to attend classes when the 2014-15 school year begins on Aug. 25.

School districts across Bexar County have united behind a campaign to emphasize the benefits of traditional public education. Their efforts were recognized by the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) who presented the “Bright Idea” award to the 15 Bexar County school districts for their “Go Public” campaign, a multi-faceted public information and awareness campaign.

So You Think You Can Dance is a popular reality television show, but the reality of watching the San Antonio Deaf Dance Company perform is truly show-stopping. The Company’s public performance is Friday, August 1 at 7 p.m. in the Marshall High School Auditorium, 8000 Lobo Lane. Admission is free but donations are accepted.
